Hollywood Merge

I really had fun with this game at first. The levels were good, the events were fun, and I LOVED the dress up competitions. However, the game is 100% pay to play, and it wants ALL your money. I’m okay with spending a dollar or 2 here and there to play an app game, but even when I spent 10$ on an event bundle to try and complete the event (there was 2 event bundles, 1 was 10$ the other 15$). I was unable to complete the event in time. thats with playing the game religiously every day and spending money. To me, that feels like the game is rigged to not be winnable unless you spend a boat load of money. I don’t love that. Just be warned. It’s a fun game, but don’t expect to do well or complete any events unless you are willing to waste hundreds of dollars.

A FREAKING SCAM. THEY WOULD SCAM UR MONEY

Don’t get me wrong—Hollywood Merge is actually a really fun game. That’s honestly what makes this even more frustrating. I started playing on October 2, and in less than two weeks, I’ve already spent over $100 on this game.

At this point, I have to be honest with myself: I need to stop spending money and probably stop playing altogether.

The biggest problem for me is how aggressively the game pushes you toward spending.

For example, you can purchase diamonds for $1.99 and get 110 diamonds. That sounds reasonable at first, but those diamonds disappear incredibly quickly because almost everything requires energy.

And this is where it gets crazy.

When you use diamonds to purchase energy, the price keeps doubling:

• 10 diamonds for 100 energy
• 20 diamonds for 100 energy
• 40 diamonds for 100 energy
• 80 diamonds for 100 energy
• 160 diamonds for 100 energy

So the more energy you need, the more expensive it becomes. And once you run out, you’re basically pushed toward buying more diamonds or participating in paid events.

Some of these events cost around $15.99, yet you may only receive around 300–500 energy as part of the rewards. And honestly, that doesn’t feel like much when the game can require so much energy just to complete tasks.

What makes it even more frustrating is that the more energy you have, the more energy the game seems to require from you. You can save up 1,000 energy, start working through an event, and still feel like it disappears almost immediately because the tasks become more expensive and take longer to complete.

Maybe some people can play this game without spending anything, and if you can, that’s great. But for me, I found myself constantly thinking, “If I just buy this package, I can finish this event.” Then another event comes along, and there’s another offer, another purchase, another reason to spend.

That’s when I realized this game is becoming a problem for me personally.

I also play other popular games like Gardenscapes, Homescapes, and Royal Match. Compared to those games, Hollywood Merge feels extremely expensive to me. I would much rather pay around $9–$11 for a monthly benefit or pass and know what I’m getting for the month than constantly feel pressured to purchase energy, diamonds, and event packages just to keep progressing.

I’m not saying nobody should play Hollywood Merge. The game itself is fun. But I do want people to be aware of how quickly the spending can add up, especially if you’re someone who has a hard time resisting those “just one more purchase” offers.

I started playing on October 2 and have already spent $100+. That was enough to make me step back and realize I need to stop.

So this is my warning to myself and to anyone else who plays these types of games:

Don’t fall into the same trap I did. Set a spending limit before you start. Don’t chase events just because you’ve already spent money. And if you notice yourself spending more than you intended, step away.

I personally will not be spending any more money on Hollywood Merge, and I’m seriously considering deleting the game altogether.

Hollywood Merge, I hope you take feedback like this seriously. A game can be fun and still have a monetization system that leaves players feeling frustrated, pressured, and taken advantage of.

Fun game? Yes.
Worth spending $100+ in less than two weeks? For me, absolutely not.

After having a pain for a while, I’ve come to realize that the energy that you have to use to play the board takes two energies for you to click on it to need one thing so every time you click on the box to receive something it takes two energies why not take one so we have 100 in the energy bar we actually only have 50 hits to make and if you want to make more than you have to purchase more or wait an hour and a half to receive it again to play another 50 hits it’s not a fair game if I get 100 on the energy then I should be able to use 100 on the energy if I cannot use 100 and you’re gonna take two every time then why not only fill it up to 50 and take one

This games is not like the ads that yall keep showing i just saw the ads and didn’t realize i been playing this game and its nothing like why the reason i downloaded it!!!!
