PayPal - Pay, Send, Save

After the recent update, I’m not able to access my cashback. It says, “We can’t show your cash back right now.” Clicking on Try Again just results in the same error message. Besides that, when I open the app, I now have to scroll to be able to see my Mastercard, and when I tap on it, it takes a long time to load. It’s evident PayPal cares more about pushing ads than being mindful of the user experience, and now I’m not even able to get my cash back.

bad customer service gives up instantly and that’s if u can even get past the slow ai customer service. and if u have a job goodluck ever trying to find time to call them anyway with their hours

Can no longer swipe to delete notifications.

1 STAR — SMALL BUSINESSES, DO NOT MAKE PAYPAL A CRITICAL PART OF YOUR OPERATION

I would strongly caution any small business against depending on PayPal for operating cash, supplier payments, or fulfillment.

We did everything businesses are told to do. We opened a PayPal Business account, worked with an assigned PayPal business consultant, proactively asked whether anything else was needed for verification, and provided legitimate business information when requested.

Then we received a real customer payment and PayPal restricted the account.

Sending money and withdrawing money became unavailable while we had an actual customer order that needed to move through fulfillment.

We immediately cooperated with the review. The problem was that PayPal’s own document-upload system would not allow us to submit information they were requesting.

We tried repeatedly. We contacted support. We contacted our assigned PayPal representative. We emailed our documentation directly because their uploader was not working. We supplied incorporation documents, EIN documentation, sales-tax/resale documentation, and additional information concerning the customer transaction.

Instead of resolving it, the situation became more ridiculous.

PayPal then asked us for proof of fulfillment on an order that had not yet shipped, while the PayPal restriction itself was interfering with our ability to move funds needed for fulfillment.

We were obviously not going to falsely claim that a customer order had shipped just to satisfy an automated review process.

We sent multiple urgent escalation emails to our assigned PayPal business representative. We received no direct email response to those escalations.

We then continued through PayPal’s Message Center and live support. During our latest support attempt, the chat terminated before the stated inactivity period had elapsed. We had already experienced a similar premature termination in a previous support conversation.

This is where small-business owners need to pay attention.

When you are a small company, a payment processor freezing normal account functionality is not an “inconvenience.” It can interrupt supplier payments, freight, customer fulfillment, refunds, inventory purchasing, and cash flow.

Large companies may be able to absorb that. A growing small business may not.

What makes our experience especially unacceptable is that we were trying to comply the entire time. We weren’t refusing to provide information. PayPal’s own system failed to accept part of it, and we went out of our way to find alternate ways to provide the documentation anyway.

Yet we have been left chasing support, repeating ourselves, dealing with automated responses, unexplained continued restrictions, and an assigned business relationship that has provided little meaningful help when it actually mattered.

So this is my warning to other small businesses:

Do not allow PayPal to become your single point of failure.

Have another payment processor. Have another way to pay suppliers. Keep operating funds outside of PayPal. Have a backup plan for fulfillment.

Because having a “PayPal Business” account and even having an assigned PayPal business consultant does not guarantee that someone will actually take ownership when PayPal’s internal systems put your business in a bind.

We are now seriously evaluating whether PayPal has any place in our company going forward.

A payment processor is supposed to help businesses transact.

It should not become the reason a legitimate business struggles to complete a legitimate customer order.

The most recent update moved all of the actually useful features out of the dashboard and hid it under secondary tabs. The dashboard now exists solely to shove advertisements into your face. I can’t find the package tracking that was very useful anymore, and can only see it if there is an update. Package tracking also lost the ability to open the tracking details page of the carrier within the app.

I love that I can get 5% back on groceries!

this app has crashed in me several times and i’m only trying to add another account

They have locked my account for no know reason with $148. I have tried everything to get my money back, calling, web browser, Phone App, no success. They stole the money. Do not use this app.

With the new update, I can't see the cashback from my credit card earnings and I can't redeem it. Please fix this, as I can't properly use my cashback rewards.

I ask them to open a case gave them all the information and pictures that I got scammed and just closed it lost 50$ If this is how they treat there customer I am done

they charge a large percentage just for receiving money on their app. Not worth using

I have to log into the website instead of the app to convert currencies now. Can not figure out how to do it in the app and the AI chatbot is giving outdated directions.

I dislike it that PayPal forces me to create an account when I just want to make a few payments to different sellers; nothing long-term enough to require an account. I know I haven’t reached the limit. I’m so tired of having to create an account for every single thing. PayPal isn’t even trustworthy; a relative used it and something happened and they never let her recover the money that was in her account.

This app never works for me. Never has work for me. Don’t do it. You try to send money and it says it’s a scam even though you know it’s a money sending app.
